Calif. AG Debuts Partnership With Cities To Combat Illicit Pot
California officials on Tuesday announced the launch of a new initiative to bring state resources to assist cities in reining in the unregulated cannabis market using administrative law procedures. The effort, dubbed the Cannabis Administrative Prosecutor Program, partners the California Department of Justice with the city of Fresno, the first municipality to sign on to a program that officials said could be replicated throughout the state. "Complex problems require creative and collaborative solutions," California's Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement. "This innovative new program allows my office to better support local governments in our collective efforts to tackle illegal cannabis activities, and we are confident that this new cost-effective program will have dramatic and measurable effects."
