The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA), supported by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), closed All the Buzz DC, located at 3232 Georgia Avenue NW, for operating without a proper license. Officers from MPD’s Violent Crime Suppression Division assisted ABCA Enforcement personnel in padlocking the premises and securing the property.

Seized Illegal Products

Investigators uncovered a large quantity of illegal cannabis products during the raid. Items confiscated included over 26 pounds of marijuana, 35 pounds of THC-infused edibles, 325.5 grams of THC vape cartridges, 176 grams of mushroom edibles containing entheogenic substances, and 68 grams of THC wax.

Legal Proceedings and Penalties

The property owners can request a hearing before the ABC Board to contest the closure. To regain property access, they may need to submit a remediation plan demonstrating how they will prevent future illegal cannabis sales. The ABC Board also has the authority to impose fines of up to $10,000 per owner.

Crackdown on Illegal Cannabis Operations

All the Buzz DC marks the 17th illegal cannabis business shut down under the Medical Cannabis Conditional License and Unlicensed Establishment Closure Clarification Emergency Amendment Act of 2024. This law, enacted in July, grants ABCA greater authority to enforce cannabis licensing rules.

Since the legislation took effect, ABCA has issued 41 cease-and-desist orders and 97 warning letters to unlicensed cannabis businesses that failed to obtain medical cannabis licenses during the designated application period.
