The Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica (the reggae legend’s former home and recording studio at 56 Hope Road) now features a new attraction: the Marley Natural Dispensary and Lounge, Benzinga Cannabis has learned exclusively.
Marley Natural, which holds exclusive global rights to Bob Marley cannabinoid products, was born from a partnership between the Marley family and Docklight Brands. The dispensary is the first of several locations planned for the island, including Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston.
The Herb House has been approved by Jamaica's Cannabis Licensing Authority for medical and therapeutic use for both locals and tourists. Visitors can enjoy locally grown Marley Natural cannabis in eighths, pre-rolls and vape cartridges, as well as a range of Marley Natural accessories, such as grinders, holders, trays, bubblers and other branded products.
“I think my father would be pleased to see that an herb house is opening at the Bob Marley Museum. When I think of how far the world has progressed surrounding its attitudes toward cannabis and to finally recognize its many positive qualities – this is exactly what my father and the Rastafarian Community have been saying for over 40 years," said Stephen Marley. "He has done so much to foster a positive understanding, it’s just right that we do this for him and his legacy.”
One Draw Holdings, another Marley affiliate company, operates Marley Natural cannabis retail locations and is the distributor of Marley Natural cannabis products in Jamaica. Docklight Brands, based in Seattle, WA, is a consumer brand company that focuses on cannabinoid products. It was founded by Privateer Holdings, the first private equity firm to invest solely in the legal cannabis industry.
