Despite past leniency on cannabis issues, U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) plans to vote against it, saying policy matters like marijuana legalization should be decided by the legislature, not a constitutional amendment.
Previously undecided, Donalds clarified his stance citing potential issues with enacting cannabis reform constitutionally.
Notably, Donalds, who has a past cannabis arrest, has supported limited federal cannabis reforms. Amendment 3 continues to spark debate, with bipartisan divides and a high level of public interest.
