Deputies served a search warrant at a five-acre property on the 5000 block of Honeyhill Road. They discovered a newly constructed 120’ x 40’ metal building used as a stash house. Inside, investigators found:
Over 3,000 trash bags filled with processed mid to high-grade marijuana.
The bags, each weighing between 30 and 50 pounds, were stacked over 12 feet high and lined the entire structure
The total haul included over 90,000 pounds of cannabis, requiring 51 truckloads to remove.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet released details on the building's ownership or identified any suspects. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
"We’ve had several large marijuana cultivations within San Bernardino County back in 2021 and 2022," said Detective Chris Bassett of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. "At one time, we had upwards of 1,400 illegal cultivations."
Health and Safety Concerns
Officials warned that illegal cannabis cultivation poses significant risks, including the use of unregulated and toxic pesticides. These substances can harm consumers and the environment, highlighting the dangers of unlicensed operations.
This bust is one of the largest in recent memory and reflects the ongoing challenges in curbing illegal cannabis production in the region.
