PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces drug charges after police say he tried to sell marijuana to undercover detectives.

Quanterance J. Matchem, 18, of Paducah, faces charges of trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 oz), 1st offense (enhancement), receiving stolen property (firearm), fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree (on foot) and resisting arrest.
Paducah police say Matchem tried to sell marijuana to undercover detectives and ran away trying to avoid arrest.
On June 3, the Paducah Police Department Drug Unit learned learned Matchem had an active arrest warrant for robbery, 1st degree out of Graves County.
Drug detectives arranged to purchase marijuana from him undercovery. They found Matchem at N. 10th Street and Ellis, say he ran away.
When he was arrested, detectives say they found a stolen 9mm handgun on him.
Detectives also found approximately 57 grams of marijuana.
Matchem was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
Paducah police officers thanked those from the McCracken and Graves County sheriff’s offices for their assistance in Matchem’s arrest.
