Portland Pickles become first-ever sports team to sell THC seltzer at games: 'Pioneers'

The Portland Pickles are always taking their iconic summer sports events to new highs in a lot of ways - most recently, by announcing that they will be selling THC seltzers at their home games, a first-ever for the sports world.

Portland's popular baseball team is partnering exclusively with Cycling Frog, a Seattle-based company that makes hemp-based edibles concluding THC beverages.

Baseball spectators will be able to buy two flavors of Cycling Frog THC LIght Seltzer, passionfruit and lemon, at every Pickles home game at Walker Stadium starting June 18th.

Each can of seltzer contains 2 MG of THC and 4MG of CBD per can.

These seltzers mark the first-ever THC beverage sold in a ballpark or sports venue legally.

"For the first time ever, a sports team will sell hemp-derived THC products at a live sporting event, establishing the Portland Pickles as pioneers in the field and setting a significant precedent for the federal legalization movement," the Pickles said in a press release.

Oregon has had cannabis – both medical and recreational – legal for several years now, but sales must adhere to OLCC regulations for service from a business.

The Pickles say they have followed these adherences through consultations with OLCC and Portland Parks and Rec.

To follow guidelines for the presence of 2MG of hemp-derived THC per serving, only fans who are 21+ can purchase and drink.

Cycling Frog beverages will be available at The Jack Daniels Party Deck Bar, Dillon’s Hideaway Bar, and a third standalone point of sale inside the gates.

“We're thrilled to be making history with The Portland Pickles. At Cycling Frog, we believe cannabis consumption should be normalized, accessible, and fun! What could be more normal than going to a baseball game and cheering for your local team? " Cycling Frog commented in a press release.

The Pickles added that the historic partnership "underscores the Portland Pickles' dedication to providing unforgettable experiences for their fans while championing progressive movements in the industry."
