The former head of a Missouri-based cannabis investment firm has alleged in Colorado state court that company investors have falsely accused him of participating in a Ponzi scheme, harassed him online and interfered with applications for a separate business's cannabis licenses. Alexander Romero, former CEO of CannaVer LLC, said in his lawsuit Friday that the organizers of investor group ArborGrowth LLC have also made social media comments comparing Romero to his father, Peter Romero, a former U.S. ambassador to Ecuador during the Clinton administration who was implicated as an adviser to the man behind a $7 billion Ponzi scheme. Romero said the accusations hurled at him by the ArborGrowth defendants, Justin Wilson, Danielle Wilson and Judy Snyder, have hurt his reputation as well as that of CannaVer.
