This brings Trulieve’s total contributions to $141 million for the Smart & Safe Florida political committee, which is spearheading the campaign to pass the amendment. As of the latest reports, Smart & Safe Florida has raised a total of approximately $148.77 million in cash and about $953,000 in in-kind contributions. The committee currently holds around $7.48 million in cash on hand.

The proposed amendment, titled “Adult Personal Use of Marijuana,” seeks to allow individuals aged 21 and older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products for non-medical purposes, including smoking and ingestion. This initiative follows the 2016 approval of a constitutional amendment that established a medical marijuana program in Florida.

Governor Ron DeSantis is actively campaigning against the amendment, and state agencies have launched controversial advertisements aimed at persuading voters to reject the proposal, which appears on the ballot as Amendment 3.
