The U.S. Army has updated its drug policy to specifically ban delta-8 THC and other hemp-derived cannabinoids that mimic THC's effects.

This update targets products like delta-8, which have become widely available, stating they pose the same abuse potential as THC.

The new rules also warn against synthetic cannabis, like "spice," and outline that soldiers will undergo random screenings for delta-8.

Additionally, soldiers are cautioned against consuming poppyseed-containing foods, which can trigger false positives in drug tests.
