A large-scale cannabis cultivation was discovered at Polbeth Industrial Estate around 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25. As a result, five men—aged 36, 29, 26, 22, and 20—were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses. They are scheduled to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today, Thursday, September 26. A report will also be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Commenting on the bust, Police Constable Michael Fairbanks emphasized the damaging effects of drugs on communities, stating, “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we will use all resources at our disposal to disrupt the drugs trade in Scotland.”
Fairbanks also highlighted the importance of community support in combating the issue, saying, “Information provided by the public is vital in helping us continue to do this.” He pointed out that this significant recovery underscores Police Scotland's commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
Fairbanks encouraged anyone with information or concerns about drug activity to reach out to Police Scotland at 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
